Bonnie “Prince” Billy

The man who acts under the name Will Oldham and sings and composes under the name Bonnie “Prince” Billy has, over the past three-plus decades, made an idiosyncratic journey through and an indelible mark on the worlds of indie rock and independent cinema. His highly individualistic approach to music making—which cherishes intimacy, community, mystery, and spontaneity—has captivated fans and made Oldham one of the most influential and beloved songwriters of his time. In Oldham’s songs, friendship, community, and the stubborn joy of making art with others become a means of persistence. His latest record, We Are Together Again , was released March 6.
